My Family Playing In The Snow

During the one snow fall this Christmas 2007 before it quickly melted away the next day, my family took advantage of this time to sled down a little neighbourhood hill, along with other families in the area. Lots of fun!

Field Trip: BC Place Stadium & BC Sports Hall of Fame

A small group of us (thanks to Jackie!) attended a tour of BC Place Stadium, and BC Sports Hall of Fame.

Learnt some amazing facts from the sweet Marianne (our BC Place Stadium host):
- BC Place holds the record for most number of seats [60,000] (and size, and a bunch of other stats) for an air-filled building in the world.

The children especially enjoyed the end of the show where we were 'blown out' of the stadium at 80km/h through one of the exit doors. The air pressure from the building naturally creates that force, and when I've edited the videos, I'll add it here.

For now, there are images below of our day in Vancouver…

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra @ Orpheum Theatre

We enjoyed a day trip to Vancouver's Orpheum Theatre, to experience an afternoon with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. It was their "Elementary School Concerts" event, that saw a host of traditional school children and homeschool children flock to enjoy Mozart's famous compositions. Here's a short video of the afternoon.

If I Had My Life To Live Over - Erma Bombeck

In honor of women's history month and in memory of Erma Bombeck who lost her fight with cancer.

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck
(written after she found out she was dying from cancer).

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more. More on If I Had My Life To Live Over - Erma Bombeck

Underworld & Glory Road

Sarah and I enjoyed our date night tonight with back to back movies. First, Underworld:Evolution with the lovely Kate Bekinsale, then Glory Road with Josh Lucas. (We prefer to end off on a happy, 'glorious' note, not scared silly by a suspense or thriller flick ;-) ) Loved Glory Road. And I get passionate in winner movies like these. And so I'm cheering when they score a basket, much to Sarah's embarassment - but she loves it that I get so passionate about a hero's journey. I love to win, and see the underdog win, what can I say! If you get a chance, check out "Glory Road" ;-)
