The Best Of Oprah - What I Know For Sure
Just picked up my Oprah magazine subscription, and realized its Oprah's 5th anniversary special!
Included in the plastic package (you know its special when its specially wrapped with plastic) is a mini book that's a supplement to the magazine. There are several quotes in this What I Know For Sure supplement that I feel would be an encouragement & inspiration for me, and possibly you - so here are some of them:
"Happiness is never something you get from other people. The happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give."
"Our beliefs can move us forward in life - or they can hold us back."
"It's up to each of us to get very still and say, 'This is who I am. No one else defines your life. Only you do.'
"It's not easy being grateful all the time. But it's when you feel least thankful that you are most in need of what gratitude can give you."
"Failure is just a way for our lives to show us we're moving in the wrong direction, that we should try something different."
"If you make a choice that doesn't please your mate, friends, or whoever, the world will not fall apart."
"Your life is a journey of learning to love yourself first and then extending that love to others in every encounter."
"If you don't know what your passion is, realize that one reason for your existence on earth is to find it."
"The truth is that which feels right and good and loving. Love doesn't hurt. It feels really good."
"A line Emily Dickinson wrote - 'I dwell in Possibility' - has always meant so much to me." "Every day brings a chance for you to draw in a breath, kick off your shoes, and dance."
"This is the body you've been given - love what you've got." "I've learnt not to worry about what might come next."
"The same questions follow every woman through girlhood and adolescence:
Can I really do this?
Will I get this right?
Am I okay?"
"The world can only value mothering to the extent that women everywhere stand and declare that it must be so"
"For me, doubt means don't. Don't move. Don't answer. Don't rush forward."
"For the first time in my adult life, I feel part of a community."
"All these years I've been feeling like I was growing into myself. Finally, I feel grown."
"If you feel incomplete, you alone must fill yourself with love in all your empty, shattered spaces."
"Getting my lifelong weight struggle under control has come from a process of treating myself as well as I treat others in every way."
"I still think twice before I buy anything."
"Listen. Pay attention. Treasure every moment."
So? What are you waiting for? Go to your local store, and pick up this month's issue. Happy reading!

Hello ,
I subscribe to Oprah so did get the small (wrapped) booklet you are mentioning above. It was excellent. I found another Oprah quote (on the internet) about doing your best right now where you are in order to get to the next step. Do you know the process of getting Oprah's permisson to use this or other quotes? I am writing a small self-help book (printing just 1,000) and would love to include Oprah's quote. Thanks so much for your help.

I wonder where does "if first you don't succeed, try, try again" …fit into Oprah's thinking…

I've just read through a copy of the small booklet 'The BEST of OPRAH'S' [What I Know for Sure] a SUPPLEMENT TO THE O, The OPRAH MAGAZINE put out by the Editors of O, The Oprah Magazine on it's fifth anniversary. Is there any chance these booklets might still be available for ordering? Thank-you.

Hi, I just discovered that my son accidentally ripped my copy of The Oprah Magazine's What I know For Sure booklet. I treasured the little gem!
Any chance of being able to order another copy?
